Candidate Nominations Are Being Accepted
Are you interested in taking a leadership role with the Missouri Recycling Association and the recycling industry in Missouri? Nominations are being accepted for 2015-2018 Board positions. Candidates must be a member in good standing and willing to serve a three year term.
As a member of the MORA Board of Directors, you will work with the whole board to build on the foundation of past boards to support waste reduction and recycling efforts in Missouri by providing information, educational opportunities and technical support. MORA is committed to the value of the board experience and recognizes the contributions each board member brings to the organization.
The upcoming year is especially critical to promote recycling and waste diversion efforts state wide by growing our membership and expanding our reach. We continue to develop a legislative platform and work on escrap legislation that will help strengthen the foundation and future of recycling in Missouri and help propel us towards our 75% diversion goal.

General Expectations for a MORA Board Member include:
- Knowing MORA's mission, goals, programs, services, strengths and needs
- Serving in a leadership position for MORA and undertaking special assignments willingly and enthusiastically
- Being aware of recycling trends and issues, nationally and locally
- Introducing substantive issues at Board and Committee meetings consistent with the Board member's convictions, but supporting the majority decision on issues decided by the Board
- Representing constituencies' viewpoints but serving MORA as a whole rather than any special interest group
- Recognizing and addressing the needs and desires of MORA's membership
- Providing support to MORA through in-kind donations, such as sponsorships, conference call arrangements, printing, etc.
- Giving a gift, according to personal means, to the MORA endowment fund
- Assisting in fund-raising strategies determined by the Board
- Informing others about MORA and actively seek new members to join and support the organization
- Using personal and professional skills, relationships and knowledge for the advancement of MORA
