EPC opens new facility, announces plans for new jobs.
A St. Charles data destruction company packed up and moved into a new 104,000-square-foot facility in Wright City this week.  Join MORA in congratulating EPC on their expansion and creation of 20 new jobs in the area.                     Full article here.     

​City of Jefferson City Celebrates 5 years of Glass Recycling! 
Congratulations to the City of Jefferson City on 5 years of glass recycling!  Mayor Carrie Tergin, Lauren Henry and other city officials attended a ribbon cutting ceremony. They were joined by representatives from program partners (Ripple Glass, Republic Services, and the Mid Mo. Solid Waste Management District).

Medals for 2020 Tokyo Olympics will officially be made from e waste
Organizers of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games have officially decided to use e-waste to manufacture the 5,000 medals that athletes will be competing for, as reported by The Japan Times. The Tokyo organizing committee is partnering with telecommunications company NTT Docomo and the Japan Environmental Sanitation Center in an effort to collect up to 8 tons of metal from devices.                                              Read more                                 February 2017  

2017 Funding Opportunity  We are pleased to announce the 2017 Monarch Butterfly Conservation Fund Request For Proposals.

The Monarch Butterfly Conservation Fund is now accepting applications for competitive funding. Details about this funding opportunity are provided in the Request For Proposals, and additional program information can be viewed at www.nfwf.org/monarch. Please note that the 2017 funding opportunity will include a pre-proposal stage; the pre-proposal submission deadline is March 13, 2017.

Grant funding will be awarded in two categories: 
  • Increase the Quality, Quantity, and Connectivity of Habitat
  • Enhance Outreach and Organizational Coordination
Eligible applicants include non-profit 501(c) organizations, federal, state, tribal, local, and municipal government agencies, educational institutions, and international organizations. Approximately $3.7 million is available in this year of the Monarch Butterfly Conservation Fund. Grants may range in size from $50,000 to $250,000.​
