2010 MORA Conference Awards

MORA's awards committee is seeking nominations for our Annual Recycling Awards. Categories for 2010 are: Outstanding Business Recycling/Waste Reduction Program; Best Use of a Recycled Material; Outstanding Recycling Education Program; Outstanding Community or Government Program; and Others. Please contact the MORA office for complete category descriptions and nomination forms. Winners will be recognized during the annual conference. Deadline for nominations is March 12, 2010.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) would like to remind you that it is currently accepting nominations for the sixth annual Michael C. Thompson Award. Created in 2003 in recognition of Mike Thompson of the Whirlpool Corporation, this award proudly recognizes visionary leaders within the ENERGY STAR® appliance network.

Any individual who is affiliated with an ENERGY STAR partner organization or works on behalf of an ENERGY STAR partner is eligible for this award. Additional details regarding nominee eligibility and the submission process are included in this document. If you would like to nominate someone who deserves recognition for his/her dedication to the ENERGY STAR program, please fill out the attached form and return it via e-mail to Anastasia McKeown at .

Past winners include:

Nominations must be submitted by July 15, 2009. An award selection committee of ENERGY STAR partners will be established to review submitted applications and the award will be presented at the 2009 ENERGY STAR Appliance Partner Meeting in Chicago, Illinois.

WRN accepting nominations for environmental awards

Waste & Recycling News is seeking nominations for its 2009 Environmental Awards. As in the past, awards will be given in two categories, Corporate and Government.

The Corporate Award recognizes a company that has made significant environmental strides in its business operations. The Government Award recognizes a public entity that has fostered environmental progress through programs, laws or other governmental initiatives.

To nominate a company, please fill out the online nomination form at www.wasterecyclingnews.com/nominate. Nominations are due Friday, Nov. 6.
